The unit has been freshly painted and has new lanai furniture so everyone can share a meal with spectacular ocean and golf course views. The views will leave you with memories of a true Hawaii experience! The lanai has an enticing view of the 9th hole of the Waikoloa Village Golf Club with the Pacific Ocean in the background. The Waikoloa resorts offer fine dining and shopping and are easily accessible via car; approximately a 10 minute drive. You can swim with the dolphins at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, take a helicopter ride with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters or test your golf game at the Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Waikoloa Village Golf Club located within walking distance of this condo. If you need more of a challenge, fine resort golf courses such as Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani and the Waikoloa Beach Resort Courses are a short drive away. If you would rather just relax, you can do so on the lanai or at one of the two pools at Waikoloa Villas both of which have a spa hot tub. Bring your favorite book and enjoy! If none of this gets you excited, how about a game of tennis, did we mention there are tennis courts located at the complex?!! The immediate neighborhood also offers wonderful views of the great Pacific Ocean so we encourage you to take a morning walk and enjoy the beauty of this tranquil area. THIRD- After it was finished, we went way beyond the ordinary to have this place professionally decorated and custom painted with the highest quality furniture, furnishings and art from Tommy Bahamas and others so that you will feel pampered and know that you are not in “just a rental”. You will experience the difference from the moment you walk through the door to when you slip in the amazingly comfortable beds at night. You see, this is where we vacation, and that is how we want to feel when we are in Hawaii. FOURTH- This is a downstairs unit that faces the historic preservation area, the royal fish ponds and the ocean. Bamboo Hideaway is truly a hidden gem.. It is located on a quiet, former Hawaiian Homestead acre next to the Wailuku River and its falls. This rental has just been completely remodeled from top to bottom with all new appliances and high end fixtures. You will find all the basic amenities needed for your stopover in Hilo town. Free WiFi is available. There is a 42 inch flat screen with DirectTV hookup. Videos, CDs and a Hawaiiana library is also on hand. The bathroom boasts its showpiece Shower Panel with 6 massage jets for an incredible shower massage!! Ah.h... The vessel sink sits atop a quartz countertop . The quartz countertops are also found in the kitchen. There is a wonderful new Caspar *TM queen bed with all cotton sheets . In the same bedroom sits a queen size pull out sofa futon with coil spring core. This rental does accommodate children over 10 years of age. The kitchen supplies all new electric appliances that are necessary for the chef of the house. Very few homes in Hilo have AC's since we have abundant tradewinds. We have ceiling fans as well as many windows for cross ventilation and cooling. The living room has two love seats and side tables. needed. Wander the premises and find fruit trees and plumerias with orchids blooming in them. Talk story with your hosts Diane & Phil who live on the adjoining property and they can show you what fruit to pick and advise you on the local action. As well, they can probably provide you with anything you might need if you don't see it at Bamboo Hideaway. Recently in early 2017 we added a nearby washer and dryer. This is free to use during the day on a limited basis. Please ask us about it if needed. Its hard to believe you can be in this peaceful rural setting, yet in 5 minutes you can walk down into Hilo Bayfront stores and restaurants or the local Farmers Market. A few minutes of a drive will take you to the new Imiloa Astronomy Center, the Univ. of Hilo, the Botanical Gardens and the zoo which is a botanical garden as well and numerous other attractions that need to go on your must see list. Of course the main attraction is the lava flow from Kilauea Volcano which is always fluctuating. An hour drive will put you into the entrance of Volcano Park to start experiencing this phenomena. If it is flowing into the ocean out of Pu uoa vent, we highly recommend the lava boat tours out of Pohoiki for sunset and sunrise tours. Hilo town is small but it is packed with things to see and do too numerous to begin to mention. We are the biggest island of the Hawaiian chain. The house is on a quiet street that runs along the ocean and has two parks within easy walking distance on the coast. You will often find there are more walkers than cars passing below our lanai. The house is very nice, offers views of the ocean from nearly every room, and the living room features Island style furniture. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed with a large walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you will need to prepare the meals which you will likely enjoy while sitting on the lanai. There aren't that many volcanoes in the world, and how many of them can you walk on? Speaking of which, the new East Rift Zone eruption has paused and all is quiet. But have no worries if the lava begins flowing again as our home is in a safe location with some of the best air on all of the Islands thanks to the trade winds. Hawaii National Park will be reopened soon – an easy one hour drive from our doorstep. Pahoa with its mix of cowboy and Victorian character with wooden sidewalks is close by and has some of the best small restaurants in East Hawaii. The Maku’u Farmers Market on Sundays is close to our home and continues to thrive. While you are there you can pick up some produce or buy gifts for family and friends back home. Try some Lava Candy, local honey, and lilikoi jam. For a special treat on Wednesday evenings you can drive past the steaming vents to Kalapana to visit Uncle Roberts Awa bar and Farmers Market. While you are there you can listen to great Hawaiian Slack Key guitar music, watch some hula dancing, and enjoy dinner choosing from the many vendors. This market is another good place to buy gifts for family and friends back home. Hilo has old-Hawaii storefronts and offers many attractions including swimming and snorkeling at safe beaches. It has a large Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hilo has many cultural events (such as the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival and the Big Island Hawaiian Music Festival). If you have time you should check out the free Mokupapapa Discovery Center for Hawaii’s Remote Coral Reefs which is located in downtown Hilo.
